OPTIBIOTIX EXTENDS SLIMBIOME® COMMERCIAL REACH WITH CAMBRIDGE COMMODITIES AGREEMENT

OptiBiotix Health Plc. (OptiBiotix), a life sciences company that develops compounds to tackle obesity, high cholesterol and diabetes, has entered into a distribution agreement with leading supplier of nutritional ingredients, Cambridge Commodities Ltd (CCL).

Extending the commercial reach and application of OptiBiotix’s pioneering SlimBiome® weight management solution, designed to deliver hunger-free slimming, this grants CCL a license to distribute the product throughout the UK.

Stephen O’Hara, OptiBiotix CEO, said: “This is a crucial partnership that will combine our expertise in microbiome modulation science with CCL’s capacity for commercialising specialty branded ingredients. In addition to our recent agreement with manufacturer Knighton Foods Ltd to manufacture and supply SlimBiome®, the move will widen UK access to this revolutionary ingredient in a host of new applications.

“We were impressed by CCL’s industry leading position and experience in multiple target sectors, as well as its strong relationships with major UK retailers. This will be instrumental in promoting the product to customers across the organisation’s impressive distribution network.”

Taking the hassle out of weight loss, SlimBiome® offers a healthy, hunger-free weight management system that relies on science rather than willpower. Harnessing the power of the human microbiome to deliver natural, straightforward slimming, it makes you feel fuller for longer, promotes a healthy metabolism by helping to burn calories and even prevents cravings and overeating by maintaining blood sugar levels.

CCL supplies both finished products and nutritional ingredients to the food & beverage, health & wellbeing, sports nutrition and pet & equine industries. Enjoying significant growth in recent years, the company equips the market with the latest high-quality goods to serve evolving consumer trends.

OptiBiotix will showcase SlimBiome® alongside its wider range of microbiome modulating innovations at the upcoming VitaFoods Europe event in Geneva (stand E39), where it is shortlisted as a finalist in the NutraIngredients Awards. CCL will also be in attendance at stand G20, furthering opportunities to experience SlimBiome® at the show.
