OptiBiotix partners with Fipros A/S for European supply of SlimBiome® weight management ingredient

OptiBiotix Health PLC (‘OptiBiotix’), a life sciences business developing compounds to tackle obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, has announced a new contract agreement with Danish firm Fipros A/S (‘Fipros’) to manufacture its proprietary weight management ingredient, SlimBiome®.

Containing a blend of non-digestible prebiotics and dietary fibres which increases microbial diversity within the gut microbiome, the award-winning SlimBiome technology from OptiBiotix has been shown to help users maintain weight goals by promoting a longer-lasting feeling of fullness. By stimulating the growth of healthy bacteria, the innovative product supports the metabolic breakdown of carbohydrates and fats, helping to maintain blood sugar levels.

Dr. Frederic Narbel, Managing Director of the Prebiotics division at OptiBiotix, said: “We are pleased to partner with Fipros to manufacture SlimBiome in the European Union. The agreement is key to the future success of our business as it helps to lower the cost of trade, supporting our existing and future European distributors and building contingency into the supply chain – a key request from our existing commercial partners.

The newly announced partnership will also support the launch of SlimBiome in Poland through the OptiBiotix consumer-facing brand, GoFigure.

Founded in 1992, Fipros is a contract manufacturer specialising in food ingredients and packaged foods for retail. Operating in both Denmark and Sweden, the company assists customers across Europe with its full production capabilities, including process development, testing and upscaling.

Fibros currently employs more than 70 people to deliver its food production and manufacturing at scale. In addition, the company currently holds Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) registration to export its food manufacturing goods to China.
