Probiotix Health CholBiome® X3 shortlisted in prestigious NutraIngredients Asia Awards 2020

Top industry publication NutraIngredients Asia has announced CholBiome®X3, the unique cholesterol management supplement from ProBiotix Health (‘ProBiotix’), as a 2020 finalist in the Product of the Year: Probiotics category.

The company, which is a subsidiary of OptiBiotix Health PLC (‘OptiBiotix’), is part of the leading life sciences business which develops technologies to modulate the human microbiome to support improved health and wellbeing. It markets the unique probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum LPLDL for use in food ingredients and supplements – such as CholBiomeX3 – to target cardiovascular health.

Mikkel Hvid-Hansen, Commercial Director at ProBiotix, commented: “Earlier this year, ProBiotix was named as a finalist in the European NutraIngredients Awards. Now, CholBiomeX3 is receiving outstanding recognition in its sister title, NutraIngredients Asia, as a probiotic product finalist. We are truly honoured to see our innovative solution, which includes our patented probiotic strain LPLDL®, shortlisted for this award.

“With consumers focusing on heart and health wellness, supplements like CholBiomeX3, which follow a science-backed approach, are more important than ever to help lower harmful cholesterol and deliver real heart health benefits. With CholBiomex3, we use tri-layer technology to combine three separate ingredients – which were previously incompatible – to synergise three separate mechanisms, enhancing the effect.”

By combining Lactobacillus plantarum LPLDL, Vitamin B3 and red yeast rice, which is rich in Monacolin K, the cholesterol management product has three mechanisms of action to improve cholesterol health. Backed by scientific, double-blind, parallel and placebo-controlled human studies, LPLDL reduces harmful LDL cholesterol by 13.9%, while increasing good HDL cholesterol by 4.5%.

Rewarding true innovation, long-term market success and cutting-edge research in today’s nutraceutical industry, the NutraIngredients Asia Awards will be hosted as a virtual ceremony on Tuesday 22nd September 2020, following the publication’s first virtual event for its European Awards earlier this year.
